Numala Autumn Nature Camps

During the Autumn holidays, Numala Kinder is offering Nature Play Day Camps for children. There are two camps: the JAJUMMS AUTUMN CAMP, a two-day program for kinder children in the first week, and the NUMALA 3-DAY NATURE CAMP for children 6 – 9 years of age. Both camps will involve adventure and nature play along the Nerang River at Numala Kinder. All children will need to enrol with Numala Kinder prior to attending. Places are very limited! 20140608_160111

JAJUMMS AUTUMN CAMP (aged 3 – 6 years)

9am – 3pm Day One (April 9): Treasure Hunt – We look for Korbyn the River Elf and follow his trail of clues and challenges, using our map of the area and having lots of nature play in and around the river. We’ll return to eat our lunch and light a fire. We’ll have a story and a little quiet time in the kinder room after lunch and then a play in the backyard, with the mud pit, sand pit, tree house and some art.

Day Two (April 10): River Play – We will enjoy playing in the river kitchen, making some boats from bits and pieces from our own designs. We may find Korbyn the River Elf again, you never know! We’ll return to eat our lunch and light a fire. We’ll have a story and a little quiet time in the kinder room after lunch and then a play in the backyard, with the mud pit, sand pit, tree house and some art.

9am – 3pm Day One (April 15): Building a home base – children construct the shelters that will be their home base for the Day Camp. This is a place to belong together for making plans, crafting, constructing, eating and sheltering. We’ll make a fire to cook lunch and the afternoon we’ll kayak on the river.

Day Two (April 16): Build a Raft – working together with a variety of materials we will make our own designs to construct a raft. We will make our bread for lunch over the fire, and in the afternoon will construct mini-boats of our own designs to float in the river.

Day Three (April 17): Orienteering Treasure Hunt – following coordinates, clues and challenges along the river, through bushland and around the estate, returning to make a fire to cook lunch. In the afternoon we’ll have a go at making bottle rockets and of course, have some more river play in the boats.

Cost: $150 for three days, with $50 deposit. CCB & CCR available where applicable. Bookings only accepted for the full three days.

BRING: Children are required to wear old clothes with covered shoulders (t shirt) and bring a hat, drink bottle, lunch box, swimmers and rashie, towel, change of clothes, reef shoes or thongs for river play. Gumboots are required for Day Three’s Orienteering through the bushland on the riverbank.
